Warner Seeds began as an independently owned business and we are proud to say that it still is 55-plus years later.
Founded in 1965 by George Warner in Hereford, Texas, Warner Seeds Inc. has been a pioneer in developing elite forage and grain sorghum genetics for North America. With a legacy rooted in innovation and agronomic excellence, Warner Seeds has consistently delivered high-performance solutions to meet the evolving needs of growers.
In 1999, Warner Seeds entered a new chapter when it was acquired by Jerry Monk, owner of Kelly Green Seeds and Semillas WOW in Mexico. Under Jerry’s leadership, Warner Seeds became the flagship of a dynamic seed enterprise, combining world-class germplasm and continuing its tradition of producing elite genetics for the industry.
In 2023, Warner Seeds redefined its go-to-market strategy, evolving into a comprehensive umbrella organization that encompasses Research & Development, Production, and Commercial Operations. As part of this transformation, the Kelly Green Seeds brand was reintroduced as the forward-facing retail brand, while Warner Seeds continues to offer a wide range of services beyond its branded products.
